Please explain, is there a way to get it back to normal. When I played Dragon Quest 9 I thought I lost all my save data, but I got a new save file with all my old data and stats. It's just with this game I see all the features of the game being unlocked when I get to it in the story. When I get to chapter 6 the features on the ship are unlocked but I have to fight the same enemies in the same areas. Do I have to play through the entire game to get all the features of the game?

I started the game this morning as normal and it seems to be working fine. I did a factory reset on my PC, and I have all my save files and stuff. It's just that the features are unlocked but not in the same areas as I would expect. For instance, in chapter 5 I see the Ninja Fortress and once I unlock the full version of that feature, I can access the area in chapter 5 that requires me to click on a button to progress the story.
If I try to play a game before finishing the tutorial, when I get to chapter 6, the map is there and the features are unlocked, but the battles and level design is from the chapter 4 version, and the missions are not related to the chapter 5 mission at all. They are also much more difficult.
It does not seem like a hacked version or anything.

This is a result of a bug in the game. The game will not automatically load the saved game, meaning you will need to manually load it. To do this, open the game and press the "X" key on your keyboard to "Exit to Main Menu" and then select the "Load Saved Game" option.

Another possible solution is to force a "game" save by pressing the "Y" key. This will save the game and allow you to load from that point. You should be able to fix it by saving it again at that point.
